Purpose: To explore the role of calponin-3 upregulation in susceptibility to epilepsy in C57BL/6 mice. Method: The expression characteristics of calponin3 were investigated in a kainic acid (KA) temporal lobe epilepsy model, pentamethazol (PTZ) acute seizure model and PTZ chronic seizure model (kindling model). The adeno-associated virus CNN3 (AAV-CNN3) overexpression vector was used to upregulate hippocampal calponin3 to observe seizure behavior and electrophysiology in different mouse models.
