This paper retrospectively analyzed the clinical data of 1 patient with transanal pro-
lapse of a ventriculoperitoneal shunt catheter after ventriculoperitoneal shunt. In addition to the
treatment of intestinal perforation ，nursing measures including preoperative preparation, psycho-
logical care, postoperative monitoring, dietary guidance, pain control, wound care and drainage
tube maintenance.
